Do You Make Art Prints & How Can They Be Purchased?

Do you make art prints and how can they be purchased? This was a question asked of me recently. After that conversation, I realized that while I know where my art is available, it isn’t something everyone knows. At first I thought how weird is that, I’m on just about every social media site and promote my art on those sites consistently. So how is the message not getting communicated? I decided to sit down and give this some thought.

Here’s what I came up with…

This may be something other artists do as well, since I spend so much time in my head creating, the tendency is to forget I’m alone in there. So, the assumption is made that because I promote my art on social media, automatically everyone understands the backstory of my decisions. BIG wrong, I’m going to rectify that now.

What I haven’t been doing with any regularity is speaking about my art on individual sites and why I’ve chosen to place different artwork on different sites.

I have a large body of art & photography & it ranges into a variety of subjects that’s why I decided to divide my artwork and my photos. I also decided to use two names Grimalkin Studio for most of my artwork and Kandy Hurley for my images.

This is what’s called niche website. A niche website is a site that focuses on a smaller group of people in a larger market with a common specific interest. The art on this site is tethered to ancient symbolism and the style of the art is minimalist. Since I’ve always been fascinated by symbolic art and the idea that a simple symbol can hold a much larger thought I wanted a place to present this art without the distractions of other styles. This site features some pieces that are my personal favorites and that I have in my own home.

The gallery’s are:

Buddha, Mandala Art, Zen, Symbolic Art ,Celtic Symbolism and Tribal.

Most of this artwork begins with something I’ve photographed, painted or drawn in my studio, then its scanned into my computer to digitize it. This procedure allows me to use my Wacom creative pen tablet to combine my paintings, drawings, woodcuts with my photographs and I can also build upon the layers by redrawing or painting in one of the programs to complete the art.

The art on this site is available in a variety of formats and price points. Its printed by Bay Photo and I’m very pleased with their attention to quality & customer service. This site also allows you to play around with my favorite tool the “Wall Preview” with this tool you can change the size of the artwork, adjust the background color of the wall, view it in a variety of settings and most importantly it allows you to get a better visual understanding of what a piece of my art looks like on the wall. Check out the various sizes and formats, including prints, metal, canvas and framed art, it makes online art shopping a better experience.

When you visit remember to Join ART  You’ll get a coupon for 20% off your first order & receive occasional updates for new art as well as my newsletter blog.

I’ll showcase other websites from time to time with explanations and descriptions of my art or photography throughout the year as well as exploring the larger world of art.

Hope you stick around for the journey… ART
